Enter/Manage Recipes

  • Tap FEED supports three recipe entry methods.
    1. Program recipe in Weight per Animal
    2. Program recipe in % of load based on Dry Matter
    3. Program recipe in % of load based on Actual Weight
  • By default this is set to "Weight per Animal". The entry method can be changed in the setting menu through Manage/Settings

Programming a recipe:

  • From the main menu, select “Manage Products” and then select the “Recipes” tab.
  1. Press “+” to create a new recipe. A new screen (below) will show. Start by filling in the section on the left.
  1. Recipe Name: 
    • Enter the new recipe name. This name will be displayed if you use a TST7600 feed management display or the FEED app. 
  2. Display Name: 
    • Enter a, max six character long, abbreviation of the recipe name. This will be displayed if you use a TMR3610 or TMR4610 display. 
  3. Recipe Type: 
    • If the display model supports other recipe types than Default, this list will show the recipe types to select from when TAP FEED Pro is active. See ‘Add to base recipe’ for more details on this recipe type. 
  4. Density: 
    • Density is the weight in Kg/m3 or Lbs/ft3 for this recipe. The software uses this value to optimize the loads. Default density is set to 350 kg/m3 (22 lbs/ft3).        
    • If you are not sure what to enter, press “Calculate Density”. This opens a calculation tool. 
  5. Auto adjust dry matter:
    • When set to “On”, TAP FEED has the possibility to automatically add water to the recipe to adjust the dry matter %. When set to “On”, the screen below will show with the current dry matter % and allows you to fill in the target dry matter %. This will automatically add the ingredient water to your ration and the required amount to meet your target dry matter %.

  6. Adjust actual weight on ingredient dry matter % change: 
    • If set to "ON", any ingredient dry matter % change you make to an ingredient in the “Manage Ingredients” tab will automatically update the actual weight of that ingredient in the recipe. 
In use: 
  • Editing a recipe after this has been created will also show the "In use" option. Select if the recipe is in use. If set to “OFF” the recipe cannot be selected for feeding to a pen of animals.   

Add ingredients in "Weight per animal"

  1. From the “Ingredients” tab on the right, select which ingredients you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired ingredient to add it to the recipe.
  2. From the “Premixes” tab on the right, select which premix ingredient you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired Premix to add it to the recipe.
  3. Enter the amount per ingredient in weight per animal. 
  4. The amount per ingredient in dry weight can also be entered
  5. It is otional to enter a mixer command if the display model supports this. This can either be a timer or rotations.
  6. The loading order of a recipe can be changed by dragging and dropping the ingredients to the preferred position.
  7. Click “Save Recipe” to save the changes.

Add ingredients in "% per Load"

  • When programming a recipe in % of load, it is possible to do this in: 
    1. % of load based on dry matter
    2. % of load based on actual weight

Add ingredients in % of load based on dry matter

  1. From the “Ingredients” tab on the right, select which ingredients you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired ingredient to add it to the recipe.
  2. From the “Premixes” tab on the right, select which premix ingredient you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired Premix to add it to the recipe.
  3. Enter the “Target dry weight per animal”.
  4. Set entry method to “Dry” to enter load based on dry matter.
  5. The “Total load %” button keeps track if the recipe is entered for 100% (turns green). As long as the total load does not equal 100%, the button is red.
  6. In this column the percentage of the load is entered for each ingredient. Water is an exception to this, as it does not contain any dry matter and will always be entered as Actual load %. The percentage of Water cannot be higher than 99% of the load. 
  7. The arrow pointing up behind the percentage value is a tool which can be used to reach 100% of the total recipe load. For the ingredient that you press that arrow, it will increase the percentage of that ingredient to reach 100% for the total recipe. This also works the other way around, to decrease the amount of an ingredient to reach 100% by reducing the % of a specific ingredient.
  8. The loading order of a recipe can be changed by dragging and dropping the ingredients to the preferred position.
  9. With the "percentage entry method based on dry matter", it is mandatory to use the option “Adjust actual weight on ingredient dry matter % change” and is therefore disabled from switching off.
  10. Click “Save Recipe” to save the changes.

Add ingredients in % of load based on Actual load

  1. From the “Ingredients” tab on the right, select which ingredients you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired ingredient to add it to the recipe.
  2. From the “Premixes” tab on the right, select which premix ingredient you want to add to the recipe. Click the “+”, next to the desired Premix to add it to the recipe.
  3. Enter the “Target weight per animal”.
  4. Set entry method to “Actual” to enter load based on Actual Weight.
  5. The “Total load %” button keeps track if the recipe is entered for 100% (turns green). As long as the total load does not equal 100%, the button is red.

  11. Click “Save Recipe” to save the changes.

Additional functions

  1. Check this box if you want to hide recipes that are set to "Not in use"
  2. Click "Download List" to download a list with all recipes (PDF)
  3. Click the three dots next to the recipe to, edit, rename, duplicate or delete the recipe.
