Enter/Manage Premixes

Tap FEED supports three premix entry methods.
1.   Program premix in Weight per Animal
2.   Program premix in % of load based on Dry Matter
3.   Program premix in % of load based on Actual Weight

By default this is this is set to "Weight per Animal". The entry method can be changed in the setting menu through Manage/Settings

Programming a Premix

From the main menu, select Manage Products and then select the Premixes tab. The screen below will show.
1.   Press “+” to create a new premix. A new screen will show. Start by filling in the section on the left.
1.   Premix Name:
Enter the new premix name. This name will be displayed if you use a TST7600 feed management display or the FEED app.
2.   Display Name:
Enter a, max six character long, abbreviation of the premix name. This will be displayed if you use a TMR3610 or TMR4610 display.
3.   Density:
Density is the weight in Kg/m3 or Lbs/ft3 for this premix. The software uses this value to optimize the load. Default density is set to 350 kg/m3 (22 lbs/ft3).
If you are not sure what to enter, press “Calculate Density”. This opens a calculation tool.
4.   Auto adjust dry matter:
When set to “On”, TAP FEED has the possibility to automatically add water to the premix to adjust the dry matter %. When set to “On”, the screen below will show with the current dry matter % and allows you to fill in the target dry matter %. This will automatically add the ingredient water to your premix and the required amount to meet your target dry matter %.

5.   Adjust actual weight on ingredient dry matter % change:
If set to "ON", any ingredient dry matter % change you make to an ingredient in the “Manage Ingredients” tab will automatically update the actual weight of that ingredient in the premix.

In use:
When a premix is edited after this has been created, the "In use" option is available. When set to “OFF” the premix cannot be selected in a recipe, and no load will be created.

Schedule premix
Using the "Schedule premix" button will take you to the [LOAD MIXERS][PREMIXES] area where premixes can be scheduled.

Add Ingredients in Weight per Animal

  1. From the “Ingredients” and "Premixes" lists on the right, select which ingredients you want to add to the premix. By clicking the “+”, next to the ingredient name, the ingredient will be added to the premix. It is not possible to add a premix that has the premix itself inside.
  2. Enter amount per ingredient in weight per animal.
  3. The loading order of a premix can be changed by dragging and dropping the ingredient to the preferred position.
  4. Click “Save Premix” to save the changes.

Add ingredients in "% per Load"

When programming a premix in % of load, it is possible to do this in:
1.   % of load based on dry matter
2.   % of load based on actual weight

Add ingredients in "% of load based on dry matter"

  1. From the “Ingredients” and "Premixes" lists on the right, select which ingredients you want to add to the premix. Click the “+”, next to the desired ingredient to add it to the premix.
  2. Enter the “Target weight per animal”.
  3. Set entry method to “Dry” to enter load based on dry matter.
  4. The “Total load %” button keeps track if the premix is entered for 100% (turns green). As long as the total load does not equal 100%, the button is red.
  5. In this column the percentage of the load is entered for each ingredient. Water is an exception to this, as it does not contain any dry matter and will always be entered as Actual load %. The percentage of Water cannot be higher than 99% of the load.
  6. The arrow pointing up behind the percentage value is a tool which can be used to reach 100% of the total premix load. For the ingredient that you press that arrow, it will increase the percentage of that ingredient to reach 100% for the total premix. This also works the other way around, to decrease the amount of an ingredient to reach 100% by reducing the % of a specific ingredient.
  7. The loading order of a premix can be changed by dragging and dropping the ingredients to the preferred position.
  8. With the "percentage entry method based on dry matter", it is mandatory to use the option “Adjust actual weight on ingredient dry matter % change” and is therefore disabled from switching off.
  9. Click “Save Premix” to save the changes.
